I have some concerns about the All-on-4 process. Is it painful?
Contrary to what most people believe, All-on-4 dental implants aren’t really that painful. In fact, before the procedure is even started, you can choose to get an IV sedation or a local anesthesia to ensure your comfort.
Apart from that, our dentists who’ll perform the procedure have undergone extensive training to make the process a lot faster and pain-free. Most of our patients have expressed less pain than what they anticipated.
What Happens During The Procedure?
On your surgery day, your implant dentist will take impressions of your teeth to find out the best areas to install the implants. This procedure is usually performed with the patient under local anesthesia. In some cases, however, general anesthetic is given to ensure maximum comfort. Consider talking to your oral surgeon to know the best one for you.
Where are All-on-4 implants made?
Your impressions will be sent to a lab where an in-house professional technician will create your new teeth and dental implants. They will be made quickly and with the best results. All of the procedures, including your consultation and follow-up visit, will be done in the same dental office.
How Long Will The All-on-4 Procedure Take?
Generally speaking, it can take around 2.5 hours to finish one arch. Patients will have to leave the clinic with a temporary set of teeth. They will have to wear the replacement teeth until the jawbones and gums have fully healed. The healing time can usually happen in 6 to 8 months.
What Are The Benefits of All-on-4 Dental Restorations?
Patients typically get 4 implants to support a new set of teeth. The implants are installed and secured into the jawbone at an angle to make them more stable and secure. This lessens the need to do a bone graft to keep the implants in place.
Some of the other advantages of getting All-on-4 implants include:
- No removal is required
- It can be cleaned, brushed, and flossed like your normal and natural teeth
- There’s no need to use a dental glue to keep them in place
- Comfortable
- No restrictions when it comes to eating
All-on-4 dental implants can provide comfort and convenience to patients who lost one or multiple teeth. They can enhance their quality of life by enabling them to eat any food they want, increasing their self-esteem, and getting rid of any oral discomfort.
