Here’s what your first dental exam involves:

• Medical history: We’ll begin by reviewing your medical and dental history. If you have previous dental X-rays, bring them along, as they can provide valuable insights into your oral health.
• New patient dental exam: Your dental check-up starts with a thorough visual exam. The dentist inspects your oral cavity for signs of gum disease, tooth decay, misalignment, and other issues.
• Oral cancer screening: We provide proactive oral cancer screenings to catch this life-threatening condition at its earliest, most treatable stage. Oral cancer screenings are painless and only take five minutes to complete.
• Dental X-rays: Our preliminary exams are detailed, but not all dental issues are visible to the naked eye. We use dental X-rays to unearth tumors, cysts, impacted teeth, interproximal cavities, and other dental problems beneath the gum line. We have invested in the latest X-ray technology, which delivers high-resolution images with minimal radiation exposure.
• Treatment plan: We’ll review the findings of your dental exam and devise a treatment plan to restore your oral health. Most likely, your plan will include dental cleaning, especially if this hasn’t been done in the last six years. Other treatment options include fillings, periodontal care, extractions, root canals, etc., depending on oral health needs.
