PPO Dentist Near You – Coverage

PPO Dental Insurance

You can get dental services from your Preferred Provider Organization (DPPO). Based on your insurance, you can visit a dentist included in their list of accredited professional practitioners, who can attend to your specific oral concern. At Newport Smiles Office, we honor several Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) for care. Through your insurance, we offer you services according to your needs.

Some insurances allow you to receive treatments, exams, and procedures at a dental office free of charge or with co-payments. Newport Smiles will assist you in filing a claim from your insurance company for any services performed by a nearby PPO dentist.

It is not necessary to bring your insurance card when you visit our office. All you need to do is let the front desk know the name of the plan and provide the other required information. Our front desk will determine what is covered, and if there is a copayment.

Types of Insurance We Accept

Delta Dental

Delta Dental lets you choose a dentist and to choose a cheaper service. Delta Dental offers two PPO Plans that include the Delta Dental PPO plus Premier plan and the Delta Dental PPO. How are they different?

  • Delta Dental PPO plus Premier: enrollees and groups get an extra financial security. You get a maximum annual coverage that you can use over a certain period, which is usually in a year. The type of coverage determines the annual maximum coverage.
  • Delta Dental PPO: prohibits dentists from billing and collecting fees that are more than the agreed cost at the time of the schedule.

Metlife has one of the country’s biggest networks so you can expect less disorderliness. You can still receive huge benefits even if you choose to go outside the network. The agreed charges range from 15% to 45%, which is cheaper than the regular charges with the possibility of covering uncovered services.

Aetna coverage is an almost comprehensive insurance. It includes preventive care, such as check-ups, cleanings, as well as fillings to crowns, root canals, and other services.

This allows you to choose the deductibles, maximums, coinsurance levels, and benefits levels.

You have the option to choose the dentist. Should you choose a non-participating dentist, Aetna will reimburse you an amount based on the standard agreed fee only. Even without a referral, you are allowed to visit any licensed dentist.

Cigna has three different PPO plans:

  • Cigna Dental Preventative: no annual maximum, no deductibles, and do not include charges for diagnostic and preventive services.
  • Cigna Dental 1000: has a coverage of up to $1,000.00 a year after $50.00 per individual per $150.00 family yearly deductible.
  • Cigna Dental 1500: is almost like the Cigna 1000 plan except that its coverage is up to $1,500.00 a year.

There is no charge for routine or preventive care after the deductible even if you seek a dentist outside of the network. You share the cost of services with the company (bridgework and dentures, extractions, fillings, root canals, crowns, gum treatment and repair, general anesthesia, and surgery), which is between 25-50% depending on the service that you had.

The two different plans offered by Bluecross include preventive services within the organization and 80% outside the network. There is a 6-month waiting period for the Dental Blue Basic Plan and a 12-month period for the Dental Blue Enhanced Plan for major services.

For fillings, it is 20% inside the organization and 40% outside the network. Both have a $25 deductible for individuals and $150.00 per family with the enhanced plan. The annual maximum for the Blue Basic is $500,000 while for the Blue Enhanced is 1,250.

United Concordia

United Concordia does not include preventive services in the deductibles. With a $1,000.00 annual maximum, the deductibles are somewhere between $100 – $300.00. Periodontal services with a 100% coverage are given for qualifying members. An average discount of up to 30% is given for non-covered services.

The Secure Choice Individual Plan has no claim forms, no deductibles, and no annual maximum. It has, however, a fixed copayment schedule for Specialists and Dentists.

You get a 30% average savings with the PPO plan of Guardian. This allows you to have savings on treatment while guarding your health and teeth simultaneously. You will receive a pretreatment cost estimate so you will know in advance what the payment will be.

The Guardian Premier Access Plan gives you more savings on top of the basic plan.

Ameritas has three different plans:

  • Value Source: reasonably priced
  • EssentialDental: allows you to obtain good coverage for all basic needs in our Orange County office.
  • SensibleChoice: reimbursement is based on the amount indicated on the coverage

About PPO Dental Insurance

Popular among individuals and families is the PPO plan. They have their own network of dentists but you can choose a dentist outside their list. You can see a professional dentist even without a referral for any work. You can also change dentist even without notifying the company. The insurance pays a portion of the cost based on the agreed amount, and you pay the excess.

The deductible depends on your provider and the coverage that you have purchased. The yearly maximum depends on coverage and your provider.
